Your wedding day is especially important to us, and, naturally, you probably have more than a few questions. Here’s a helpful list of the questions we are asked most frequently:
Q: “What is your photography style?”
A: Carl Elixir Photography is acclaimed for developing a unique style of wedding photography that is deeply rooted in wedding photojournalism while influenced by fine-art and fashion photography. We love using creative lighting, unique compositions and artistic post-production to bring out our clients' personalities and beauty while telling their wedding stories. We pride ourselves on not just being photographers, but rather artists who creates unique and expressive imagery. When we deliver images, we want you and your loved one to re-experience the story of your wedding, with all the big, overwhelming moments of joy, and also the quiet, emotional moments, too.
Q: “Do you do destination weddings?”
A: While we are based out of Washington D.C., we serve clients all around the world. Our destination wedding photography packages have a minimum requirement of 6 hour coverage, the prices are simply our standard packages plus the cost of travel and reasonable accommodations if necessary.
Q: “How many photos will we expect to receive?”
A: We don't have an exact number that we try to reach each time since every wedding is different, and it would be silly just to tie our hands with a number. However, you should expect 50-75 photos/hour for 1 shooter and 75-100 photos/hour for 2 shooters.

Q: “Do you provide partial day coverage?”
A: Yes! We understand that each wedding is different and unique, some may require photography for up to a day, while some may only need a few hours. So all our packages are customizable to fit any wedding sizes, no wedding is too small, please submit a contact form for more pricing information.
Q: “Do you have insurance?”
A: Absolutely, we make sure that both our clients and us are fully covered at all time. Please let us know if your venue needs our insurance information.
Q: “Will we have rights to the images?”
A: Yes, we let you own rights to the images at no extra cost. You can request an online and print rights release with any wedding package.
Q: “My venue is really dark, how do you handle these situations?”
A: We have shot in the darkest of dark chapels and reception halls so no need to worry! If the situation allows, we will set up additional lighting to ensure we get bright crisp pictures. Some chapels do not allow for flash photography; and for that reason, we shoot on camera’s with superb low-light performance and lenses with large apertures.
Q: “Do you have any recommended vendors?”
A: Yes! We are here to make your life easier and we love to network! There is a list of great vendors that we can provide you, these are some of the best people that we've worked, and we strongly recommend them to all our couples.
Q: “I’m not very comfortable in front of a camera, will you help me?”
A: Remember you are not alone, many people feel awkward in front of a camera. That is why we make every effort to capture you candidly being yourself. We will talk you through posing naturally and show you some pictures throughout the shoot to reassure you of how beautiful you look in our photos! Throughout the shoot we will continue to communicate with you and give you tips on what to do!
